How do I download?

I use Sim File Share, CurseForge and Patreon as hosts for creations. If you run into problems, or a link is not working, please let me know. Since I use a lot of cc I usually don't upload my lots/sims to The Sims Gallery, but my profile there is KyriaT_sim (you need to uncheck 'Recommended by Maxis' for my profile to show).

Download the file(s) to your download folder (or a folder on your desktop or any other place on your computer that you will remember). The files are packed as rar files and you will have to unzip them before extracting them into the correct folder in your game. 

How do I install?

• You have to unpack the rar files in order to place the different files in your game. If you don't know how to do this, just google it.
  
• For houses/lots: The files from the Trayfiles-folder (.bpi, .blueprint, .trayitem) must be placed in the Tray folder on your computer (Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray\
• For sims: The files from the Trayfiles-folder (.householdbinary, .trayitem, .sgi, .hhi) must be placed in the Tray folder on your computer (Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray\
• For CC: Not all CC is included, you will have to download some items separately. Some of my earlier uploads have links in the blogpost, but since August 2022 I've include the list (pdf) with links in the rar file. You will find the included CC in the CC-folder in the rar file. Place all CC (included and not-included) in the Mods folder on your computer (Current User Account)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods\   When CC is used, make sure modifications are ticked in your library filters for the lot/sim to show. (If you are not familiar with use of Mods and CC you'll find a very detailed explanation of the whole process here.)
• I use cheats (MOO, size up/down, Alt for placement etc) and when I build houses. The game will give you a warning about this, before placement. I sometimes also use TOOL and please have in mind that those items might loose their location or appearance if you try to move them in build mode.

I always try to make my houses and sims playable. However, some houses or families include several itmes of lovely CC with medium/high poly. For most of us this is not a problem, but if you have an older computer/graphic card these items might slow down your game performance. In this case you might consider changing/leave out some of the outfits or build/buy objects.

I like this house/sim, but the creator has used CC/EP/SP items that I don’t have

You can still download, and the items you don't have will be replaced by EA items or just disappear. However, the looks and/or functionality might change, so you should always consider the significance of the missing items.

Some of the not-included CC is behind a Ad.fly link 👿. Why do you use them?

I wish that all creators would upload their cc without Ad.fly links. They are putting all their followers at risk, and I really, really hate it. I try to find substitutes if I can, but for some specific items, especially historical content, it's difficult. You might want to try an ad blocker, but if for some reason you can't or don't want to, please contact me and I will try to help.

Some of the not-included CC has links that doesn't work 🚫. What do I do?

Please let me know! Maybe I did a mistake, and if so I would like to correct it. It might also be that the site is deleted. Sometimes you can find the cc at other sites (like Lost CC), or there might be alternative download links. If you still can't find it, please contact me and I will try to help.

I downloaded a house/lot, but it looks like a mess/items are missing/items are in the family inventory

I use cheats (MOO, size up/down, Alt for placement etc) when I build houses. The game dismiss items if they affect the function of an other item or doors, fireplaces and so on. I try very hard to avoid these problems, and always test my lots, but I might have overlooked something. Please let me know if that happens, so I can correct it.

I downloaded a house/lot with CC, but the included CC doesn't show up in my game?

Did you move the CC to the correct folder? Maybe the CC need a mesh that is not included? Did you tick off the box to allow mods in your game? If yes, there might be a problem with a game update, and you should check the creators website for the latest version or further information. Sometimes it can also be smart and necessary to do a batch fix in Sims4Studio. If there still is a problem, please let me know!

How often do you update?

Because of life in general and, specifically, some health issues, I had to slow down my building/recolors/updates. At the moment (2026) things are a bit slow, but I have not retired! I will be back with something new at some point, I promise!

For my stories I update 3 times a week, when the story is active. And then there will be weeks with nothing, until I start posting again.

To avoid spam there are restrictions on commenting, so you will not be able to comment anonymously and all comments will have to be approved. You can also Ask me anything on Tumblr, you can do that anonymously. If you don't want your question published at all, just send me an email. I should also be quite easy to find on Discord and other social media, my nick is the same everywhere.

 

What are the so-and-so palette?

When I recolor something I use a set of colors, with the same color-codes to ensure that they will be similar in different items or even different sets.

My favorite palettes for Early Civilization are Efrosyni and Knossos, based on a natural looking color from this era. You can see the colors and codes here. I've also made some wooden textures that I use on most BB recolors.

 

Do you take requests?

For recolors and builds I might, if I like your idea :) Send me a note and let's take it from there. I can not do mesh edits or new meshes, since I really don't understand much of Blender. Maybe some day?

Don't reupload them claiming them as your own. I would be honored if you included my recolors in your lot/sim, but please don't upload to sites where payment is necessary, or behind permawall. Please respect the TOU of the mesh creator. Credit and a link is always appreciated, and if you are on tumblr I appreciate a tag (kyriat-sims) if you use my creations. I would love to see what you do with my stuff! 😀

Lots and Sims

You can do what you want with my sims and houses, except: - Don't upload them anywhere else and claim them as your own. That would be silly anyway, since they are already uploaded here...
Credit and a link is always nice.
