“God doesn't care about what you eat or what you drink. He doesn't care about how often you pray to him or what words you use or where you go to do that....He only cares about how you behave towards one another.”
― Raymond Khoury, The Sign

Why this
Like everybody else, my attention is tuned in to the tragedy happening in Ukraine these days. My heart bleeds for the innocent people affected by this war, and I'm in awe of the incredible courage of the Ukrainian people. The suffering civilians now experience is unbelievable, and is totally reprehensible. So many have fled to neighbouring countries, and so many more are stuck in places and situations where they don't even have that option.

The safety of people is of course the most important, but it is also very sad to witness the destruction the Russian bombs cause on urban areas. Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv are known for their beauty, and when historical buildings are destroyed it is irrevocable, and a great loss for all of us.

I have made the sim version of one of the famous wooden churches, found in many places in Ukraine. I have never seen them with my own eyes, but I hope I will be able to do so one day in the future.

Please consider to donate to one of the organizations that provide humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian people, like MΓ©decins Sans Frontieres or The Red Cross.

About the Lot
I've set up the lot as a wedding venue, but since I don't own the My Wedding Story pack, so this lot will not have those items, but it does have a wedding arch (Restored Peteran Pulpit by Pandorasimsbox). If your sims doesn't want to marry, they might want to visit the church to contemplate with reading or just to look at the beautiful icons. Ideally only holy sims would go behind the templon and use the old scribe, which mysteriously works as a computer (Scribe set by Simverses), but you will find that the sims don't have any respect for those religious rules and tradition. (Contact me if you find this very annoying.) I've provided a simple 'privy' for your sims, but this would not be a part of these old churches. Apart from that I've tried to keep close to actual churches, but this is of course a sim building, and not exact copy. My reference pictures are here, here and here.

  3. I am infinitely grateful for this building, it is beautiful and gives warmth to my Ukrainian heart in this difficult hour! I would be glad to see a pagan temple with the gods of our land, if it's not difficult for you!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! πŸ’• I honestly must admit that I don't know much about Ukrainian pagan temples, but if you can send me some photos or drawings of what you have in mind I could give it a try!
