When Jerry Burton, a pilot from London, was injured during a flight, he was was advised by his doctor to go to the countryside to cure his injuries. Together with his sister Joanna he rented Little Furze, owned by the unfortunate Miss Emily Barton. That decision turned out to be very important to all three of them.
