A large farm with all modern amenities. For 1870 that is.
The farm was actually founded in the 1830s, and the family made good money as a dairy farm from the beginning. The first house, or rather the small hut, was built on the same spot as the little school is standing today, but was demolished many years ago. After his fathers death in the 1866, Leif-Ove decided to build a new, larger house. It took him (and his helping neighbours) almost 10 years, and all his savings, but he is very proud of the result.
This is also my birthdaygift (part 1 of 2 - find part 2 here) for Ameya and a part of her lovely Little Sims on the Prairie project. She is such a talented creator and a wonderful person 💖 Happy birthday!
