First of all, the "martna" is hard work. Traders travels to different fairs at different parts of the year, and farmers sell their products and their livestock. Do you need a new horse? This is the place to buy one! The Fjordsundsmartnan lasts a week and attracts traders, farmers and all kinds of people from miles away. With so many people gathered there will be fun too. A lot of fun! Drinks, dance, food and flirting. And fighting. People might disagree whether fighting is fun or not, but it is definitely a part of the fair! (In Norway the tradition of martna is still existing and blooming, every month there is something going on, info in Norwegian)
